*. Food--- Sterba's Cory is omnivorous and likes a
well balanced diet including dried, flake, frozen, and live foods. Good quality
flake and pellet food as well as frozen brine and live worms.
*. Breeding--- While breeding, the male will
clamp the barbels of the female during the fertilization process. The female
will carry the eggs to their final destination by using a special pouch located
under her ventral fins. The eggs are then attached to a plant leaf or other
smooth surface. After 3-5 days, the eggs will hatch, and the young can be fed
micro-worms or micro-plankton until they are large enough to consume prepared
foods.

Generally easy to
keep in good conditions with a PH of 6.5 to 7.8 and temps from 26 to 28 degrees
or there abouts,sandy bottom, large roots and crevices to reduce stress. They
can live alone or in a school and they can be semi aggressive. They are
insectivore-algae eaters. Feed them sinking catfish pellets; freeze dried
bloodworms, tubifex and good flake food. They love food and the males are
normally feisty as the females are more rounded in shape then the males. They
are sensitive to nitrate, meds and a little bloating. They may hang inverted or
lay as if asleep.15cm is full size. They originate from Africa-Zaire, Cameroons
and from the family of Mochokidae.
